Analyst

We are seeking a talented Analyst to provide research support to the Portfolio Management Team, including; gathering, consolidating and interpreting information and data required for buy, hold, sell and short decisions for companies. Advanced Excel programming skills are essential.

 Responsibilities:

• Communicate investment ideas both verbally and in written reports to Portfolio Managers and Analysts, including at the daily morning meetings
• Perform maintenance work on securities held within our Funds
• Maintain and build  financial, quantitative, and technical models
• Build and run equity screens for long and short ideas
• Research available public information on individual companies
• Update the Portfolio Managers with material information (i.e. Annual and Semi-Annual Reports, AIF's, Press Releases, other Analyst reports)
• Constantly monitor changing industry and company catalysts
• Attend industry seminars and reporting back any relevant information
• Send notes summarizing investment morning meeting to SAM and SPW sales teams
• Run portfolio analytics and monitor portfolios

  Work Experience/ Skills/ Attributes

• 2 + years of experience at a financial services firm: bank, fund, dealer, etc.
• Advanced programming skills in MS Excel
• Experience with Bloomberg, Factset, CPMS
• Strong communication skills - written and verbal
• Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to think intuitively and draw connections
• Strong presentation skills

  Education Requirements

• Bachelors degree
• Completion of CFA Level 3
