Eric Sprott has accumulated 35 years of experience in the investment industry. After earning his designation as a chartered accountant, Eric entered the investment industry as a research analyst at Merrill Lynch. In 1981, he founded Sprott Securities, which today is one of Canada's largest independently owned securities firms with offices in Toronto, Calgary and Montreal. After establishing Sprott Asset Management Inc. in December 2001 as a separate entity, Eric divested his entire ownership of Sprott Securities to its employees.

Eric's investment abilities are well represented in his track record in managing the Sprott Hedge Fund L.P., Sprott Hedge Fund L.P. II, Sprott Offshore Fund, Sprott Canadian Equity Fund, Sprott Energy Fund and Sprott Managed Accounts. In December 2004, the Sprott Hedge Fund L.P. was the winner of the Opportunistic Strategy Hedge Fund Award at the Canadian Investment Awards. In addition, the Sprott Offshore Fund, Ltd., won the 2006 MarHedge Annual Performance Award under the Canada-Based Manager category. Furthermore, in October 2006, Eric was the recipient of the 2006 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Financial Services) and the 2006 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Ontario. In December 2007, Eric was named Fund Manager of the Year by Investment Executive, a widely circulated publication for Canadian financial advisors.

Eric's impressive predictions on the state of the North American financial markets have been captured throughout the last several years in an investment strategy article that he authors titled "Markets At A Glance” (available at www.sprott.com).

John Embry joined SAM as Chief Investment Strategist in March 2003 with focus on the Sprott Gold and Precious Minerals Fund and the Sprott Strategic Offshore Gold Fund, Ltd. He plays an instrumental role in the corporate and investment policy of the firm. Mr. Embry, an industry expert in precious metals, has researched the gold sector for over thirty years and has accumulated industry experience as a portfolio management specialist since 1963.

After graduating from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, John Embry began his investment career as a stock selection analyst and Portfolio Manager at Great West Life. He then became Vice President of Pension Investments for the entire firm. After 23 years with the company, John became partner with United Bond and Share, the investment counseling firm acquired by Royal Bank in 1987. Since then, John was Vice-President, Equities and Portfolio Manager at RBC Global Investment Management, a $33 billion organization where he oversaw $5 billion in assets, including the flagship $2.9 billion Royal Canadian Equity Fund and the $250 million Royal Precious Metals Fund, the #1 ranked fund across the country for its 2002 net performance of 153%.

Anne Spork has accumulated over 23 years of experience in the investment industry. After completing her bachelor's degree in business administration, majoring in international finance at the Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration, Anne entered the investment industry. Shortly after its formation in 1981, Anne joined SSI and was instrumental in helping the firm develop into one of the most successful institutional brokerage firms in Canada. During the past 23 years, Anne has directly participated in all aspects of sales and trading functions of both the Institutional Equities and Sales Departments of SSI, including direct sales coverage of institutional clients and high net worth individuals.

Moreover, Anne has been responsible for co-managing all of Eric Sprott's Fund portfolios and Sprott Managed Accounts throughout these years and has been influential in helping SAM achieve its impressive historical track record of outstanding returns. As of 2000, Anne became Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager of SAM, continuing her role as co-manager on all of Eric Sprott's Fund portfolios and Sprott Managed Accounts. Anne holds the Canadian Investment Manager designation.

Jean-Francois Tardif joined Sprott Asset Management (SAM) in November 2001 as co-manager to the Sprott Long/Short Funds and Sprott Canadian Equity Fund. Since joining the Firm, he has played an important role in generating new and exciting investment ideas that have contributed to the Fund’s impressive performance results. Jean-Francois was recruited to SAM based on his notable stock picking abilities and portfolio management successes which were demonstrated throughout his 11 years in the financial industry and as a Portfolio Manager for various funds at ING Investment Management and Montreal-based Cote 100. Jean-Francois has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Sherbrooke University as well as the CFA Charter. He is the Lead Portfolio Manager for the Sprott Opportunities Hedge Fund LP, Sprott Opportunities RSP Fund and Sprott Opportunities Offshore Fund.

Peter Hodson joined Sprott Asset Management Inc. in January 2006. Peter has over 18 years of experience in the investment industry. Mr. Hodson began his career as a Managing Director with Dominion Bond Rating Service, and later became Associate Director of Equities at Mutual Asset Management where he managed over $1 billion in assets in its small-cap fund. He later joined Synergy Mutual Funds in 1997 and moved to CI Investments when it acquired Synergy in 2003. Mr. Hodson worked for Waterfall Investments Inc. for a period before returning to CI in 2005. At CI, he was Vice President Portfolio Management where he was responsible for overseeing the management of various funds.

Mr. Hodson holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario. He is the Lead Portfolio Manager for the Sprott Growth Fund.

Sylvain Ratelle joined Sprott Asset Management in January 2007 as an Investment Strategist. and has over 20 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to joining Sprott Asset Management, Sylvain was Vice President, Chairman of the Segregated Management Working Group and Lead Portfolio Manager of the North-American Equity Strategy (including ADR) for Fiduciary Trust Company of Canada, a company related to Franklin Templeton Investments and Bissett Investment Management. Prior to that, Sylvain was Lead Portfolio Manager of the Quantitative Active Canadian Equity portfolio for State Street Global Advisors. Sylvain has also been Vice President, Chief Investment Officer and Lead Portfolio Manager of global equities for Professional’s Fund Management and Vice President and Portfolio Manager in Canadian and U.S. equities for BMO Harris.

Sylvain completed his bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance and economics at the HEC business school at University of Montreal in 1987. He earned his CFA designation in 1994 and his MBA, finance and international management in 1998, also from HEC.

Allan Jacobs joined SAM in August 2007 as a Director of Small Cap Investments with focus on the Sprott Small Cap Funds. Prior to joining SAM, Allan was head of Canadian Small Cap equities at Sceptre Investment Counsel, a field he has specialized in for the past eighteen years. He was also the Portfolio Manager of the Sceptre Equity Growth Fund, as well as Portfolio Manager of the Sceptre Canadian Equity Small Cap Pooled Fund and the Canadian small cap component of all other institutional portfolios. He managed the Sceptre Small Cap Opportunities Fund (a hedge fund), which was launched on January 31, 2007 (now called the Sprott Small Cap Hedge Fund). He was an integral part of the Canadian Equity team at Sceptre since 1993 and was appointed a Managing Director of Sceptre in 1996.

Allan was acknowledged for his achievements at Sceptre on several occasions. The Sceptre Equity Growth Fund was recently awarded the Best Canadian Small Cap Fund over one, three, five and ten year periods at the 2007 Canadian Lipper Fund Awards. The Sceptre Equity Growth Fund was also a finalist for the 2006 Small Capitalization Equity Fund of the Year and was chosen Canadian Equity Fund of the Year in 2005. Furthermore, Allan was chosen the 2006 Fund Manager of the Year at the Canadian Investment Awards. The Small Capitalization Canadian Equity Pooled Fund, also managed by Allan, was awarded Canadian Small Cap Pooled Fund of the Year.

The experience he brought to Sceptre in 1993 included his Chartered Accountant designation, his management of the largest equity fund in South Africa (a $5 billion fund for Old Mutual) and his four years at Canada Life Investment Management Limited as the portfolio manager of Small Cap Canadian equities.

Peter Imhof joined SAM in August 2007 as an Investment Strategist and member of the small cap team. Together with Allan Jacobs, Peter’s focus will be the new Sprott Small Cap Funds. Prior to joining SAM, Peter worked at Sceptre Investment Counsel as a member of the Canadian Equity Small Cap Team and was appointed a Managing Director in December 2006.

Peter was a significant contributor to the award winning management team of the Sceptre Equity Growth Fund and the Small Capitalization Canadian Equity Pooled Fund. He began his investment career at Sceptre in March 1998. From 1998 to 2000 he was involved in quantitative analysis and portfolio construction in Canadian Equities.

Charles Oliver joined SAM in January 2008 as an Investment Strategist with focus on the Sprott Gold and Precious Minerals Fund. Prior to joining SAM, Charles was at AGF Management Limited, where he led the team that was awarded the Canadian Investment Awards Best Precious Metals Fund in 2004, 2006, 2007, and was a finalist for the best Canadian Small Cap fund in 2007. At the 2007 Canadian Lipper Fund awards, the AGF Precious Metals Fund was awarded the best 5-year return in the Precious Metals category, and the AGF Canadian Resources Fund was awarded the best 10-year return in the Natural Resources category.

Charles began his investment career with Midland Doherty in 1987 and later joined AGF’s Fund Management department in 1999. In 2002 he was named co-manager of the AGF Precious Metals Fund, the AGF Global Resources Fund and the AGF Canadian Resources Fund. In 2004 he was named Manager of the AGF Canadian Small Cap Fund. In 2006 he became co-manager of the AGF Growth Equity Fund and co-advisor on the Markland Oilsands Sector Fund. Charles also helped manage institutional funds and funds domiciled in Japan, Ireland, and the UK.

Charles combines a big picture approach and a bottom up process. Using a portfolio approach he focuses on strong management teams with a sound strategy. He looks for growth at a reasonable price (GARP) and generally buys companies with the view of holding them over the long-term.

Charles obtained his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Western Ontario in 1987 and obtained his CFA designation in 1998.

Jamie Horvat joined SAM in January 2008 as an Investment Strategist with focus on the Sprott Gold and Precious Minerals Fund. Prior to joining SAM, Jamie was co-manager of the Canadian Small Cap, Global Resources, Canadian Resources and Precious Metals funds at AGF Management Limited. He was also the Associate Portfolio Manager of the AGF Canadian Growth Equity Fund, as well as an instrumental contributor to a number of structured products and institutional mandates while at AGF. He joined AGF in 2004 as a Canadian Equity Analyst with a special focus on Canadian and Global resources, as well as Canadian small cap companies. Prior to joining AGF he spent 5 years at another large Canadian mutual fund company as an Investment Analyst.

Jamie was acknowledged for his achievements while at AGF, most recently as a finalist in the Canadian Small/Mid Cap Equity Fund category and as the winner of the Precious Metals Equity Fund category for the second consecutive year along with co-manager Charles Oliver at the 2007 Canadian Investment Awards. Furthermore, the AGF Canadian Resources Fund was recently awarded the best 10-year return in the Natural Resources category, while the AGF Precious Metals Fund was awarded the best 5-year return in the Precious Metals category at the 2007 Canadian Lipper Fund Awards.

Jamie holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (honours) from Mohawk College, and an Honours B.Comm from McMaster University. He is a member of the International Research Association and is a Licensed International Financial Analyst. He is also a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians & Technologists, as well as the Toronto CFA Society and the CFA Institute.
