Kevin Bambrough
Market Strategist
Kevin Bambrough joined Sprott Asset Management Inc. as a Research Analyst in August 2002 and subsequently assumed the role of Market Strategist in 2006. In September of 2007 Kevin took on a dual role when he was appointed President and CEO of the Sprott Resource Corp. Kevin adds greater depth and analysis to the Sprott Investment Team due to his diverse background resulting from experience across various industries. Kevin has worked in the investment industry for over seven years and prior to joining SAM, he worked as a Microsoft Systems Engineer for five years.

Since 2003, Kevin has focused his analysis for SAM on the coal and uranium-mining sectors, making instrumental contributions to the firm’s investments in these areas. In his role as Market Strategist, he also spends a significant portion of his time examining global economic activity, geopolitics, and commodity markets, as he strives to identify new trends and investment opportunities. Illustrating his work in this regard, in May 2006, he co-authored the report entitled Investment Implications of an Abrupt Climate Change with Eric Sprott.
 

Eric Nuttall
Associate Portfolio Manager
Eric Nuttall is an associate portfolio manager with Sprott Asset Management Inc. He joined the firm in February 2003 as a research analyst after beginning his career with CIBC World Markets. Eric supports the investment managers with the development and analysis of investment ideas for all Sprott Funds, with a primary focus on oil and gas stocks. Eric graduated with high honors from Carleton University with an Honors Bachelor of International Business.

 

David Tomljenovic, MBA, LL.M.
Associate Portfolio Manager
David joined SAM in April 2005 as a Research Analyst for all Sprott Funds. Previously he worked at Clarus Securities in corporate finance and most recently as a small cap growth oriented special situations analyst focusing on technology, manufacturing and industrial minerals. Prior financial experience was gained at RBC Dominion Securities, the Royal Bank of Canada, and CIBC in addition to others. David graduated with a bachelor degree in history from the University of Western Ontario and obtained his MBA from the University Of Toronto where he graduated as a Bregman Scholar. He later attained a master degree in law (LL.M) from Osgoode Hall law school with a concentration in corporate and securities laws.

Jamie Spreng, MBA
Associate Portfolio Manager
Jamie Spreng joined Sprott Asset Management Inc. as a Research Analyst in May 2005 and became an Associate Portfolio Manager in October 2007. He has worked in the investment industry for over eight years and brings particular focus on consumer products and consumer finance companies, as well as broader macro factors impacting the consumer. Prior to joining SAM, he worked as a consumer products and merchandising analyst for Fraser Mackenzie and Canaccord Capital. He obtained his MBA from the University of Calgary in 1997.
 

Sasha Solunac, MBA, CFA
Research Analyst
Sasha obtained his MBA degree from McGill University in 1994 with concentrations in Finance and International Business. He has been working in the investment management industry for over 12 years, attaining his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1997. Prior to joining SAM, Sasha worked for 6 years at Letko Brosseau & Associates as a Research Analyst. Sasha supports the investment managers with the development and analysis of investment opportunities. Sasha also currently co-authors our monthly market strategy articles with Eric Sprott, titled Markets at A Glance.

Ashley Kennedy, CFA
Research Analyst
Ashley Kennedy joined Sprott Asset Management Inc. as a Research Analyst in July 2006. He has worked in the investment industry for over five years. Prior to joining SAM, he worked at UBS as a Research Associate in the basic materials sector as well as gaining prior investment experience at MFC Global Investment Management. Ashley graduated with honours from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and obtained his CFA charter in 2005. Ashley’s focus is on the development of ideas and analysis for the Sprott Opportunities Hedge Fund LP and Sprott Opportunities Master Fund.
 

Heather Hatch, MBA
Research Analyst
Heather Hatch joined SAM as a Research Analyst in January 2008 with over 20 years of experience in the finance industry. She began her career in banking with CIBC where she spent over 8 years and later pursued her MBA from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. Post completion of her MBA in 1996, Heather worked as a sell-side Research Associate and later a Research Analyst covering Industrial Products and Special Situations with several firms including First Marathon (now National Bank Financial), Yorkton Securities Inc. (now Orion Securities Inc.) and Sprott Securities Inc. (now Cormark Securities Inc). After a stint in Institutional Sales with Desjardins, she has returned to her analytical roots and will once again be searching for superior investment ideas within her areas of expertise.
 

Maria Smirnova, MBA, CFA
Research Associate
Maria joined SAM in May 2005 as a Research Associate after graduating as a Bregman Scholar from the University of Toronto's MBA program. Maria has over 7 years of experience in the mutual fund industry. Having begun her career at Excel Funds Management as an Operations Manager, she subsequently worked in Product Development at Fidelity Investments. Maria graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and obtained her CFA charter in 2002.
 

Andrew Hepburn, BA
Research Associate
Andrew Hepburn joined Sprott Asset Management as a Research Associate in September 2006 after graduating from Queen’s University with an Honours degree in Political Studies. He spent the previous two summers at SAM, co-authoring with Chief Investment Strategist John Embry in-depth studies on market intervention. SAM published "Not Free, Not Fair: The Long Term Manipulation of the Gold Price" in August 2004 and "Move Over, Adam Smith: The Visible Hand of Uncle Sam" in August 2005. Andrew is an avid student of the metals markets, contributing analysis and developing investment ideas relevant to all Portfolio Managers, largely focusing on the Sprott Gold and Precious Minerals Fund and Sprott Strategic Master Gold Fund.
