Position Summary

Sprott is searching for a Marketing Associate who will be dedicated to driving the Company’s investment communications efforts by creating high-quality communications. These communications represent Sprott's investment views, strategies and myriad investment funds and portfolios. Sprott's primary public-facing investment products include 10 separate funds; 5 Sprott Physical Bullion Trusts; 3 ETFs; and 2 Mutual Funds.

The Marketing Associate possesses a unique set of marketing, communications, sales and technical skills that help Sprott to develop and implement myriad marketing initiatives. This position reports directly to the Managing Director, Vice President, Marketing working within a team of marketing, sales and IT professionals. This position will report to our Darien, CT office, with potential to work remotely a few days a week once training needs are met and depending on performance. This detail-oriented team player will work closely with other marketing staff to ensure that all marketing deliverables are of the highest quality and support the Sprott brand. The Marketing Associate will interact with all levels of staff, including senior management. The ideal candidate for this role is flexible, self-motivated, responsible, hardworking, and comfortable working independently or in a team. They should express a professional interest in current financial services trends and changing technologies.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following; other duties may be assigned as needed:

  • Supports the execution of a multi-channel marketing strategy directed to Financial Advisors, Institutional and Individual Investors located in both the U.S. and Canada.
  • Assists in developing, creating and updating marketing content and collateral, both print and digital.
  • Actively manages many aspects of marketing collateral development, from initial concept through execution, with a focus on high-quality output, and timely delivery.
  • Writes, edits and proofreads emails and other promotional marketing deliverables.
  • Coordinates the creation and implementation of outbound email marketing and social media campaigns to increase brand awareness and lead generation.
  • Works as a liaison with the Compliance, Legal and Sales teams to secure appropriate approvals for marketing materials.
  • Supports the Sales Team to develop and implement results-driven marketing solutions based on an understanding of financial advisor's business goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates deliverables for event-based marketing initiatives including conferences and trade shows.
  • Helps to organize and manage content for organization’s web properties via the Umbraco content management platform.
  • Updates company's website content and data as directed by the Director of Digital Marketing.
  • Keeps current with marketing best practices and technologies through third-party training and conferences, taking the initiative to further her/his financial services education and career.
  • Learns to analyze and synthesize marketing data, to create management (ROI/KPI) reporting at the Executive Team level.
  • Understands the purpose and use of standard marketing tools, including but not exclusively: Website; Email; Social Media; Digital Content (Blogs and Videos); Advertising (Online Banner & Search, Print); Public Relations; Webinars and Conference Calls; Direct Mail; and Industry Trade Shows and Conferences.

 

Work Experience/Education

  • Education: Four-year college/university or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience within the financial services, mutual fund or ETF arenas is a plus.
  • Recent college graduate with tremendous initiative, willing to learn the asset management business and/or least 2 years of marketing-related experience in communications, marketing and financial services industry, preferred.

 

Knowledge/Technical Skills/Abilities

  • Solid understanding of investments and ability to apply relevant concepts to marketing materials.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and high attention to detail and quality assurance of personal work.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel and
  • Basic understanding of email marketing HTML coding best practices, with some knowledge of technical web coding practices.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus; basic facility with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat DC applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and possess the ability to work independently in a team environment.
  • Ability and desire to perform in a highly collaborative environment – working across departmental and supervisory level functions.
  • Must be able to project manage and pro-actively communicate progress to supervisor.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency to set and meet deadlines, and juggle competing priorities.
  • Self-sufficient while being detail-oriented and motivated.
